Philip - in memory ...

5 Jan 2007 Another sharing, this morning, my sister knocked my door when I was having my shower. She asked me to open the door so that she can show me something. As i've finished, i open the door, she shown me a text message in her handphone. "Philip pass away around 3am". It shocked me. Philip, is our shepherd and deacon in Chinese congregation in the church. He is around 50 years old, with her lovely wife who helps him in the ministry, also his two sons and a daughter. He was having her face and neck swallowed for the past few weeks. But he didn't bother much as he thought it's just a medical reaction. But the last Saturday, he faced a light breathing difficulty and his face getting swollen. He was getting on stage to preach actually, but they all ask him to go to hospital, so our elder in the church replaced him on that Saturday night. He admitted to the hospital on 30th Dec 2006,saturday night. Lizhi, my mom, sis n I and another two sis n bro at Cameron highland, so we could not visit him on time. The next day, Lizhi and I came back to KL earlier, my mom, sis n another two sis n bro n their maid went to Penang for extended holiday. So we visit him once we arrive in KL at Sunway Medical Centre. He looks good, can talk, can share, can joke... very optimistic, keep telling us no big deal, he will be fine. So we stay for another 15 min, then we went back. I brought him 3 Cameron oranges and a bouquet of roses. Tuesday evening, sis n group came back from Penang, visited him when they just arrived also. My mom said he kept asking them to go back, as there has already around 200+ sis n bro visited him for these few days. They said he looks tired too, so they quickly say hi and bye and then went back home. We all think that he will recover soon. Initially there will be an operation during new year, but they said those surgery team went for new year holiday, so they will be back only after new year. So they think it’s not critical, they wanted to wait until the team is back. Next day, I heard from another sis saying he will not get any operation, as the doctor advice better don’t. They found a big tumor between his heart and his lung. There are a lot of arteries around, so it might be dangerous to operate now. They suggest for chemotherapy to make the tumor smaller. At night, the sis who went to Cameron with as, asking all of Chinese service sis n bro to visit Philip as he will have operation on Friday. Thursday morning, after all, she got wrong message, maybe, as Philip will not have any operation, but medical report on Friday for any further treatment. So we didn’t go visiting him… Friday morning… this morning, I got the news from sis’ hp. I felt sad, but I know I shouldn’t… as He has already gone back home to our Heavenly Father. These all happened so sudden, again. Why I said again, is because last year, it happened in my church. There was a sister, a daughter to a doctor, who is a lecturer to those medical students, passed away within a month. She was also diagnosed with leukemia which they found out in two weeks time. She went into comma and passed away then. This time, I heard from a sister, saying his wife actually went back home to tidy up the house, to welcome his husband back home. But at mid-night, the nurse on-duty heard he spoke out loud, so she want into the room, she saw his eyes went white. After a few attempts of saving his life, not make it, he passed away. Who did he speak to at the midnight since there is nobody inside the room? What did he say at this last moment? … Philip, see you in heaven on day, when God wanna take me home. Now, I can only imagine.
